FINAL PROJECT
The New Age of Naievety follows the non-linear nature of GENERATION, NURTURE, ENVIORNMENT, MEMORY.
This collection stands as a visual study of my core memories surrounding naturalistic repeating elements throughout my childhood, combined with the brutalist nature of entering adulthood - faced with the deprivities of reality and persistent truth, I find myself often reminiscing on the times of my naivety.
When did my naivety exit my consciousness?
Utilizing dark, extremist colors juxtaposing the delicate nature of gold and naturalistic silhouettes from my childhood, I pursue to represent the hardships and reality of exiting childhood, apprehending truth, human nature and accepting life as it is - a universal experience. Though this is a universal experience, by utilizing personal, nostalgic artifacts, I aim to demonstrate this maturation of life through my eyes.
We often believe that this coming of age is a negative experience, gaining the knowledge of this world, however I think we often oversee the beauty. Yes it can be vile, unbearable almost, awesome, boring, an inevitable loss of wonder. But beauty doesn’t always have to be beautiful, it can embody impermanence, brief moments of time in which we as humans mature and grow.
